Build my resume freeSymptoms of an unparsable PDF
Upload tools return empty sections, garbled text, or 0% parse quality. You cannot highlight individual words in the PDF — only a full-page selection.
Common causes
- Canva or design tools exported via Print → Save as PDF
- Phone camera scans saved as PDF
- Heavy graphics with text baked into images
- Password-protected or corrupted files
Fixes that work
- Upload DOCX from Google Docs or Word instead
- Export using Download → PDF, not Print
- Rebuild in a structured resume builder and export clean PDF/DOCX
- If parsing still fails, enter sections manually — do not trust a blank import
FAQ
- Will ATS read my Canva resume?
- Only if the PDF contains real text. Many Canva exports are image-based and fail both parsers and ATS.
